In the exhibition " Illusion Nature. Digital Worlds "from November 10, 2019 to February 2, 2020, at Sinclair-Haus museum the artists will approach with digital compositions on the topic of nature and create virtual places of longing.

In doing so, they explore the boundaries between reality and image and question the human perception of the world. What is real? - One of the questions to which the main theme of the B3 Biennial of the Moving Image 2019 "REALITIES" gives space.

As part of the B3 parcours program, a conversation with Wolf Lieser, DAM (Berlin), and Bianca Schwarz, hr2-kultur will take place on November 27, 2019 at the Museum Sinclair-Haus. Wolf Lieser is one of the leading experts in digital art. In 1998, he founded the Virtual Digital Art Museum (DAM) and in 2003 the DAM Gallery in Berlin. In conversation with Bianca Schwarz, Wolf Lieser talks about his work as a gallery owner, collector and author, and describes how art is transformed into a digitized world, what opportunities it containes and what fascinates him about the virtual possibilities.

Does the spirit of 'modern art' have to be realized by hand or machine? For the modern artist in the future the consequence will lead to the latter, although for the time being one will be inclined to regard this as heresy. - Jacobus Johannes Pieter Oud, 1918

Art - digital?!

Wednesday, 27. November 2019, 19 o'clock

Wolf Lieser, Digital Art Museum/Gallery (Berlin), in conversation with Bianca Schwarz, hr2-kultur

In the exhibition "Illusion Nature. Digital Worlds", the Museum Sinclair-Haus presents works by contemporary artists whose digital compositions approach a traditional theme of art - nature. Virtually composed places of longing emerge, whose idyll, however, is repeatedly broken by the hyper-reality of artificial animation. The digital worlds appear strange and familiar at the same time. With their works, the artists explore the boundary between reality and image and question human perception of the world. The exhibition shows digital works on the theme of "nature" from the 1980s to the present day. Wolf Lieser is one of the leading experts on digital art. He founded the virtual Digital Art Museum (DAM) in 1998 and the DAM Gallery in Berlin in 2003. As part of the exhibition "Illusion Nature. Digital Worlds" at the Museum Sinclair-Haus in Bad Homburg, Wolf Lieser talks to Bianca Schwarz, hr2-Kultur, about his work as a gallery owner, collector, and author, and describes how art transforms in a digitalized world, what opportunities it offers, and what fascinates him about virtual possibilities.
