‘System of a Doubt’ is a 2-channel video installation consisting of material the artist shot at the tech fair IFA during the fall of 2017 as well as archived video materiel she recorded from 1996–2002 as a young girl. In her web series Translantics she coined the term “digital puberty” to describe how she perceived the transition of her physical puberty evolving simultaneously to her environment’s “puberty”, changing it from “analogue” to “digital”. As a young girl Thie examined her relationship with technology and how the body was contextualised in entertainment media while she staged herself in fictional spaces inspired by TV talk shows and soap operas.
