Bernd Kracke


Bernd Kracke has been President of the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Offenbach since 2006. In 2000, while teaching Electronic Media at the Hochschule, he founded the CrossMediaLab, a research platform dedicated to experimenting with analog and digital technologies and their combined use in the context of art and design. He drew on his experience earned at M.I.T. Cambridge/USA (1979-1986), the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (1990-1999), and from his work as a freelance media designer and artist. Since 2008 he has served as Chairman of the Hessian Film and Media Academy (hFMA). In 2012 he became Director of the B3 Biennial of the Moving Image Frankfurt Rhine-Main, which he had previously initiated.
