Birgit Wittemann is a freelance dramaturge, editor and lecturer. She worked as a dramaturgy assistant at the Berlin Volksbühne until she began working for Pandora Film. With a grant from the Filmstiftung NRW, she worked there in story development and production. She then attended the writing school at IFS and, after further development work at Hark Bohm's “Hamburger Kino Kompanie”, went freelance. She now works for numerous broadcasters and producers, such as Constantin Film, Degeto, FFHSH, Sat1, SWR and WDR, and teaches at the Film Academy in Ludwigsburg, among others.
In this workshop, dramaturge Birgit Wittemann will look at the structure and design of the scene in film productions. What function does it have in the script, what type does it correspond to, in what context is it set and what exactly is its content? After an introduction to the topic, there will be a short group exercise to consolidate the contents creatively.
